After blanking the Jets in the top of the first; scoring seven in the bottom of the first; giving up a run and having two outs, a runner on third, and a strike on the batter; the Pirates were thwarted by the weather. The game began with lightning to the west of Memorial Park but in the second the field was soaked by a rain storm that left the infield dirt under an inch of water.
The game will have to be replayed in its entirety.
The Pirates play the Orioles Tuesday, July 10TH at 7:00 PM at Memorial.
