Yes, he knows that is Labor Day weekend. I for one am not available because I will be out of town. I believe Jose', David Porta and John Denney have commitments to out of town.

Well boys -

It was a great win against the Dodgers!  Who says we can't hang with them?

Dustin, great job!  The final line was a 7 inning complete game 8-6 win. Faced 35 batters, had 11 strikeouts, 4 walks, 3 hit-by-pitch, 5 hits, 6 runs including allowing a long, long 3-run shot to left, over the creek and through the woods...

Guys, I really like the way we are playing as a team.  Let's keep it up this Sunday.  Bring plenty of water because it is going to be HOT!  We take on the Jets at Clarksville at 1:00 p.m.  We will wear our WHITES.  I know Mark is going to be running late due to work. Is there anyone else who can not make game?

Still no decision on Fall Ball.  A few have indicated they would play. However, David Allison is telling me players have to be 50 and over to play in that division. We can participate in the 18+ division and there are those that are up for that. Plus there are discussion of playing just games against the Senators.  All still up in air but time is running out and we need to make a decision.

Terre Haute is still taunting us!  Mark has communicated with them and they still want to pull this thing off.  However, they and we have championships to play.  Its looking more like the weekend of 20th and 21st to pull this feat off.  More to follow.

Congratulations!  To the Pirates on clinching the Louisville MSBL 45+ division!  A job well done and well deserved.  You are all a great bunch of guys, a little nutty at times, but a great group!

I have to thank both Jose' and David for taking on the managerial duties whilst I was out on the road.  Great job guys.

Congratulations to David Porta for the win last night.  You've taken some tough losses this season, you deserved better, didn't let that get you down and kept coming back and never gave up in any of the games. 

To Charlie, the game of a lifetime, the "game ball"!  Way to go Charlie!

Our next game is Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against the Wolves at Memorial. We all know that they want to extract a "win" from us.  However, lets send those boys home a packing with another "loss"!  Remember these guys knocked us out of the division last year. No chance to do that again this year!   

I'm told the game after that will be Tuesday night at 7 pm and the opponent may or may not be the Dodgers (still under discussion)?  Anyway we'll get to that one after this Sunday.

Then we will face the Orioles in a three game series playoff that will begin on Sept. 7th.  In last years series, it was set as a game played on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday (if needed).  Guys let's have all hands on deck for this series so we can give the Orioles a run for the money!

Bobby has requested we try and get a team picture.  We will attempt that feat this Sunday.  Wear your "whites" this Sunday so we can take a group shot and an individual shot.  Then next time we'll try to get one with the gold tops.

Games against Terre Haute team(s) is still in the works!  Mark has conversed with their team manager and league president.  I'm told their talking smack.  They want to know if another team may be interested.  I've connected with Senators and they are.  We are working on dates in September after the championship series to make this happen.

Again, Congratulations to all for making the Pirates the divisional champs.  We're going to the 'SHIP!  See you Sunday.

Well done Pirates!  Congratulations on another win!  Congrats to Jose' on getting another "W"!

Lets keep it going guys with another win on Sunday against these same Wolves.  We play at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 10th at Memorial Park.  We will wear our "Whites".

David Porta will take the hill.

We're 12-4!  The schedule tells me we 3 games scheduled.  But, I'm also told, we will play 22 games.  I'm not sure where the other 3 games will be and who we will play.  More to come on that subject as soon as I'm told. What we need to do is focus on the game that is in front of us and the rest will take care of itself!

Fall Ball - I'm told there is only two ways this is going to go.  Either play as 50+ or 18+.  No ifs, ands or buts!

So if we want to put together a 50+ team than we need to get those interested together and decide if we have enough and want to combine with Senators or Wolves.  If, we want to play together as a Pirates team then we have to play in the 18+. 

Please let me know if your interested in one or the other. The cost is $65.00.  The games (either league) will be on Weds night and Sunday's.  50+ at Germantown and 18+ at Thurman.

Mark, has been in contact with the team in Terre Haute!  They are interested in playing us.  They are asking about the weekend of Sept. 13th & 14th.  Maybe us and doubleheader or if we ask the Senators to come, a couple of their teams and the two of us in a round robin?  We will need to bring an Umpire.  I'll ask Charlie to consider (and we can compensate him some funds) or see if Terry would go or worst case I'll call the game.  More about that but we need to count heads and get this set so we can finalize.  Then too we'll want to see about doing the same here and figure dates.
