Guys -

Another classic between the Pirates and Senators!  I don't know what it is but these games make it ok to lose (naw, I hate to lose) to a good group of fellas.

David P, I feel bad that we can't seem to wiggle out a win for you buddy. You pitch a great game, just needed a little more run support from our bats.  For that I'm sorry we didn't help.  Our defense was stellar again and it just came down to them getting more runs than us - right Chris!

Next game is Sunday against the Colonels at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial. Please wear your whites.  Jose', Scotty and Rich will return and Charlie and Dustin head out for vacation so we will be missing them.  Jackson and Chris may or may not be able to play depending on work.

Couple of things coming up.  We have three rain outs - Dodgers, Colonels and Wolves.  According, to Dave Allison he is going to look at schedule and most likely we will not make up the Dodger game but we will make the other two since it may affect the standings on our side of the division.  However, these games may be made up on those dates that we have the upcoming younger team games scheduled for.  WTF! I will have a conversation with Dave on Sunday so let's not get wound around the axle just yet.

Next Tuesday Aug. 5th at Germantown (vs Wolves) Mark has invited a few of his rehabilitation patients and some co-workers to come out and cheer on the Pirates.  They will have their own transportation and medical staff to help them.  I ask that we be at the ready to assist anyway we can.  Too, I plan to have a few extra new balls for us to sign so that we can give to them as parting gifts.  Let's call it Nursing Home Night! No. How about, Bring Your Patients Night! Naw, REHAB Night!

Too, Mark has a contact in the Terre Haute 50+ MSBL that has asked if we'd be interested in playing in a home and away doubleheader.  I've said yes and details will be forthcoming.

Fall Ball - Right now I'm told there is two divisions.  An 18+ and 50+ division.  I asked about a Pirates team coming in as a team and was told all have to be 50+ to play in the 50+ division.  That makes me think we should then either play 18+ (I have two sons who would like to play) or maybe play just match-ups against the Senators (who want to face better than what was the 50+ last year).  Or have two fall teams one 18+ team and 50+ team, then those who want to play for one or the other or both can then decide.

More to come.  See you Sunday!
