Boys -
Here we go! Sunday is going to be hot and sunny. I need everyone at Des Pres Park on Sunday May 20th at 2:00 p.m.
to work on taking ground balls and fly balls. Also need all pitchers
and catchers so we can have you work off the mound. We may get some
swings in as well.
As David mentioned on blog we are now 18 days away
from Opening Day and we have yet to have the entire team at a scrimmage
or practice. Everyone needs more practice and I know your not doing it
on your own. So come on out to Des Pres and get the rust out and shake
the cobwebs.
I have been contacted by Kevin with the Dodgers
about scrimmaging and he is going to be doing that on both Saturday and
Sunday at Iroquois High School. He rattled off a bunch of different
times. I'm not interested in a scrimmage, I am more interested in our
own split squad scrimmage. That way we see more pitches, fielding and
running! If you want to scrimmage with the Dodgers on Saturday around
2:00 p.m.
Also keep in mind that we will have the field at
Germantown Babe Ruth for the next two Weds. nights from 5:30 pm to 7:30
pm and it gives us the opportunity to work more on a better defense for
this season.

Guys -
Forgot to send this notice out to remind you!
Tomorrow
night from 5:30 to 7:30 pm we have the field at Germantown Babe Ruth
baseball field at our disposal. I'd like to call it a scrimmage but
that would be lying and I don't lie.
We also have the field set up for practice on the
next couple of Weds. nights from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. I'd like to get a
scrimmage with a team on one of these nights.
Guys
getting down to the real nitty gritty, I still need a couple of
jerseys, monies and waivers. I will be in touch and would like to set
up a meet so I can get it done.

OK Folks -
It's official! Bobby has reserved us the baseball field at
Germantown baseball league on Poplar Level Road from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
on Saturday May 12th, if you can make any time in the time frame please
come out and get a little work in. There were a few of you who said
you'd be able to make a practice on Saturday instead of Sunday, since
it's Mother's day. Its going to rain on Sunday and Saturday seem like a
better chance to take a ton of ground balls and fly balls, swing a bat
on the field and get the pitchers work on a mound.
I really need to get with the remainder of guys who need to either
sign a waiver or both pay and sign waiver. If you can't make a practice
I will be in touch to meet you somewhere to get this done so I can
worry about other subjects. I also need to retrieve the last of the
gold tops so Bill can get to work on getting the initials on them as we
decided.

Guys -
Those of you that made it out yesterday for the scrimmage
I thank you for making the effort. We are now 4 weeks away from
opening day and we need more work! On Wednesday May 9th at 5:30 pm
there will be batting practice at John Denney's facility over in
Jeffersonville, IN. Check the blog for directions if you don't know
where it is. Or contact John at 502-552-5596 (cell) and he can help you
get there.
I've been contacted by Kevin from the Dodgers about
getting a scrimmage together with his team. I think they have Iroquois
as their field of practice. So I will check with him to see what
works.
This Sunday is Mother's Day and so many asked after
the scrimmage if we could do something on Saturday. That is possible if
its possible for you folks. With a show of hands - how many could get
together on Saturday May 12th to practice infield, outfield, batting and
more? [Reply to Leo at cozydude3@gmail.com ]
I need your gold shirts boys! If you gave me
already, thank you, if not please get this week so I can give to Bill
and get them back for Opening Day! David has attached the Pirates
schedule to the blog, Charlie has sent it to me so that it can be
attached to your computer calendar or I can print a paper copy if you
want it that way.

Guys -
I know you all want to go to the Pegasus Parade and that's fine if you do. Just don't tell us!
Guys we are one month away from starting the 2012 season.
The official schedule is out and I will forward once I've had a chance to review and see if anyone else has changes.
We open again with the Orioles at Memorial on June 3rd, which means we'll see Adam and its wood bat.
Let's go Bucs, Lets go Bucs!
This
Thursday May 3rd the field at Des Pres is available for pitchers to
work off mound. Please take advantage of it. I will not be there, I'm
out of town this week. Brian is the man! Please do not take BP if
there are any little kids around. There are cages and you can swing in
them. Infield and outfield practice is ok. If you can make it contact
Brian on cell 640-8276, text or email bkhooper@yahoo.com.
I'm still working on what we can do for scrimmage on
Sunday May 6th. Senators are up for it. The field at the Knobs is not
available. It may be we can go to Shawnee before or after
Colonels/Dodgers. I will keep you informed. Worse case we'll have a
practice at Des Pres on Sunday.
I am in possession of some inexpensive Pirates hats
if anyone wants or is having hard time finding. They are cheap and
adjustable hats and I can sell you one for what Hikes Point baseball
paid for them.
Guys its getting closer so get your ass in gear and get your blood moving.
Leo
