Guys -
I want to thank you guys that made it out to
Shawnee this past Sunday for the scrimmage. It wasn't the best way to
get a good work out but I guess it beats a sharp stick in the eye. Too,
thank you to those of you who gave me your money and forms and for you
who remembered to bring your gold top!
Now for this week! If it doesn't rain too much I
would like to get those who are pitching (if you can make) to meet with
those who are going catch (again, if you can make) so the pitchers can
get a good 40, 50 or 60 pitches. This Thursday April 26th at 6:30 p.m.
at Des Pres park (4709 Lowe Road). I will not be able to make this
event, however, my able body assistant - New Guy Hooper will be there.
Unless someone knows of somewhere else to work off mound?
We are going to scrimmage on Sunday April 29th
against the Senators from 2 to 4:30 p.m.! This is going to happen on
the field at Floyds Knobs area. See the
Louisville Pirates Blog for directions.
Address is 4032 Weber Lane, 47119. This will give us another
opportunity to have pitchers working off a mound and game situation.
Fellows, this Sunday April 29th is also the deadline when I have to turn into David Allison the Pirates roster (min. 14 players), money ($2700 - $ 195.00 per) and waivers! No exceptions or we will not have team in league.
As you can count we have 18 players minus Kevin Bright who is on
disable list and most likely out for season. That leaves 17 players if
that is how the roster stands. If it remains at 17 it will make your
fee lower and I will refund money to you. However, I will do that after
I have your original league fee. Please bring your fee and waiver on
Sunday! If we get rained out I will come to you or meet you but guys
I'm not the bank and I don't have the money to front. Checks should be
made to me or cash is even better, I have to give David all cash or one
check.
I have money and waiver from 8 players right now! Others are on the way.
Also
remember if you didn't bring your gold jersey to bring it Sunday so we
can get Bill to get them embroidered as it was decided. For the new
guys joining us this year - Charlie, Scotty, Scott & Bobby - I am on
the hunt to get uniforms tops What size are you guys?) from retired
players and so far I've had success so I will have tops for you but it
may not be your most favorite number. It also may cost you a nominal
fee to purchase from the retirees! More about this later.
There is a new league/rain out hotline number (502) 671-3954. The website for the league is being updated as well.
Any questions get a hold of me.
Thanks
Leo
